Birthday Treats & Party Bags – Friendly Reminder

Dear Families,

Just a friendly reminder regarding birthday treats and party bags at school.

🎁 Party Bags:
We highly encourage party bags to contain party favours or small toys rather than food, as we have a number of students with allergies and anaphylaxis.

🧁 Birthday Treats:
If you would like to provide a birthday treat, please ensure it is an individual mini cake or muffin. Whole cakes are not permitted.

Please also ensure that:

  • A list of ingredients is provided with any food.
  • All food items are individually packaged or wrapped.

Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee 2026

We are excited to share some wonderful news from the 2026 Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee! This year, an incredible 98,783 students from across Australia registered to participate in the competition. Following the first round, the top 500 students in each state and territory have progressed to the next stage. We are very proud to announce that two Thornhill Park Primary School students have successfully advanced to the second round:

Grade 3/4E – Tarson R
Grade 5/6G – Caleb G

This is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful recognition of their spelling skills and hard work. Congratulations, Tarson and Caleb! We wish you both the very best of luck in the next round of the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee!

Book Week – A Wonderful Celebration of Reading!

Book Week was a wonderful success, with our school buzzing with excitement as students celebrated their love of books and reading. Throughout the week, students enjoyed a range of activities including lunchtime and classroom activities, the Book Fair, competitions, our Book Character Parade and a special Book Week incursion. It was fantastic to see so many students enthusiastically participating and enjoying the celebrations.

Our Book Fair was also a fantastic success, with $5,845 worth of products sold! As a result, our school has earned $1,753 in rewards, which will be used to purchase new literacy resources to support our students’ learning and enjoyment of reading.

A huge thank you to our staff for the time, effort and teamwork that went into making the week so special for our students. We would also like to sincerely thank our families and wider school community for supporting the Book Fair and our Book Week celebrations. Thank you for helping us make Book Week 2026 such a memorable celebration!
