This year in Music, the Preps will be exploring the differences between the musical elements of rhythm and beat. They will identify songs that have and don’t have a steady beat. They will also learn how to compare songs that contain softer and louder dynamics and slower and faster dynamics. The preps will learn how to play various musical instruments including claves, maracas, castanets and bongos.

This year in Music, the Year 1s and 2s will be exploring the differences between the musical elements of rhythm and beat. They will learn how to read simple rhythms containing quarter notes and eighth notes and they will also
create their own rhythms. The Year 1s and 2s will learn how to play various musical instruments including glockenspiels, castanets, maracas and bongos.

This year in Music, the Year 3s and 4s will be learning about the musical elements of rhythm and beat. They will learn how to read simple rhythms containing quarter notes, half notes, eighth notes and sixteenth notes. They will also create their own rhythms both digitally and also written by hand. The Year 3s and 4s will learn how to play various musical instruments including glockenspiels, ukuleles, boom whackers and bongos.

This year in Music, the Year 5s and 6s will be learning about the musical elements of melody, pitch, rhythm and beat. They will learn how to identify high and low notes and label them correctly by name on a musical stave. They will also
create their own rhythms both digitally and also written by hand. The Year 5s and 6s will learn how to play various musical instruments including glockenspiels, ukuleles, boom whackers and bongos.
