Our Learning in Prep
Hello! We are your Prep Class of 2024!
What an EXCITING start we have had to our first year of school! So many engaging learning experiences and activities we have experienced so far.
In Numeracy, some of what we have been learning about include: numbers 0-10 and beyond, matching a number to a picture, sorting based on features and the number of letters in our names.
In Literacy, we have been learning about Independent Reading, making Just Right book choices, making Predictions, and sequencing the events in a story. For our first Language Experience we followed the steps to make a fruit kebab – healthy AND yummy!
In Inquiry, we have been learning about “Me and My Family. This includes learning about what makes us unique, how to look after our bodies, and that all families are different and special.
Our special activities and events include:
- a visit from Western Water (and Sammy the Snake!).
- a visit from Melton Library.
- meeting our Prep Buddies.
- and our swimming lessons – what fun learning how to swim and stay safe around the water.
We look forward to learning, exploring and experiencing NEW things together as the year continues.
